While we prepare for Hop Sauce Fest, Long Beach Island is jumping with activity. The big talk this past weekend was the opening of Parker's Garage & Oyster Saloon in Beach Haven.
The early 1900s was a golden age of Long Beach Island – the fishermen, the hotel guests, decoy carvers, barkeeps, kids rowing dinghies, the bootleggers, and baymen. Today, Parker’s Garage is a celebration of all that. From their boat slips to oyster saloon, they want to bring back that era.
With a menu featuring an inventive raw bar, creative shares and entrees that are setting the Island food scene into a frenzy, Parker's Garage is now open at 116 Northwest Avenue (formerly the site of the Boat House.) And we hear the sunsets are pretty unreal.
Parker's Garage will be at Hop Sauce Fest this year serving up Lobster Corn Dogs, Clams on the half, Oysters on the half, and Crab Cakes.
