Hop Sauce proceeds benefit local schools!
So you went to Hop Sauce Festival last year. Or at least you heard what a good time your friends had listening to those great bands, munching all that delicious local fare with those amazing hot sauces and sampling 20 craft beers. You may have also heard that the event raised a pretty penny for The Jetty Rock Foundation.
But maybe you don’t know what the Jetty Rock Foundation is, or what it does?
The Jetty Rock Foundation is the charitable arm of Jetty, their vehicle for local grassroots initiatives. Jetty’s now-famous Superstorm Sandy Relief Project and “Unite + Rebuild” benefit t-shirt allowed them to donate over $335,000 to local families, organizations, and businesses. The Jetty Rock Foundation, which received 501(C)3 status earlier this year, has allowed them to better aesthetics, protect the environment, foster arts and culture, and instill a sense of community for both LBI and Mainland.
Last week, The Jetty Rock Foundation purchased and donated 50 iPads that will be split between new Jetty Tech Labs in Long Beach Island’s elementary schools that Jetty styled out with local inspirational posters and comfy bean bag chairs. They also donated an additional $5,000 to the Beach Haven Elementary school for the purchase of Chromebook laptops to expand the technology program, mostly with funds raised at Hop Sauce Fest with the help of our partners at Shore Point Distribution and Spice It Up.
“We are so grateful of Jetty’s donations and know that a true partnership will continue because they are all about the kids,” said LBI Schools Superintendent Karen T. McKeon.
We’ve got a ton of great new ideas in the works for Hop Sauce Festival, 2015 from food trucks to bigger bands and chip sponsors, but now you know what kind of projects all those proceeds go toward.
Thank You for making our 1st Annual Hop Sauce Fest a success!
